Open Call: WOW Bangladesh Chapters 2026

Deadline: 16-November-2025

The organisation’s work in the region focuses on reshaping gender perceptions, building capacity among arts professionals, amplifying women’s voices, and fostering partnerships that advance equality across all sectors of society. This approach combines education, creativity, and advocacy to generate lasting social change through the power of art and community engagement.

As part of this ongoing effort, the British Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from institutions, organisations, and registered groups of artists and cultural practitioners based in Chattogram, Dhaka, Rajshahi, and Sylhet. The selected applicants will have the opportunity to host, curate, produce, and present a day-long WOW (Women of the World) Bangladesh Chapter event between 1 January and 30 August 2026. Each event will celebrate women’s achievements, explore gender equality through artistic expression, and create a space for dialogue and collective action.

Grants of up to £23,000 in equivalent local currency are available to support these initiatives. The funding will enable organisers to design events that engage communities, highlight gender-related challenges, and showcase stories of resilience and empowerment. Through this support, the British Council aims to build sustainable local networks of artists, activists, and organisations dedicated to advancing gender equity through creative practice.

Eligible applicants must be legally registered and able to comply with all necessary regulatory and tax requirements in Bangladesh. The program welcomes both new and returning applicants with the vision and capacity to deliver impactful work on gender themes. The ability to curate and produce an event that meaningfully addresses gender in society will be a key criterion in the selection process.

This initiative represents an important opportunity for Bangladeshi cultural leaders to contribute to a global movement that connects creativity with social transformation. By combining artistic innovation with advocacy, the WOW Bangladesh Chapter will not only elevate women’s voices but also inspire inclusive change across communities.
