The Technology Development Board (TDB) is currently inviting nominations for the National Tech Excellence Award for Women 2022 under the following two categories:
- National Women Scientist Award for Excellence in Translational Research
- National Women Entrepreneurs Awards
Objective: To recognize outstanding contribution of women scientist / entrepreneurs in commercializing innovative indigenous technologies.
Both the awards will be presented in two distinct categories:
- Senior (45 yrs and above)
- Young (Below 45 years).
While constituting the awards, the process would inter-alia encompass the various steps as given below:-
- Identify the stalwarts who have made a niche for themselves
- Acknowledge their initiatives & hard work through the innovative products they have developed and establishments they have created
- Applaud the very fact that they have succeeded and survived all odds
- Celebrate their success and let their stories be encouragement for millions.

- Senior: Rs.3.00 lakhs
- Young: Rs 1.00 Lakhs
- National Women Entrepreneur Award
- Senior: Rs. 3.00 lakhs
- Young: Rs 1.00 Lakhs
Two awards each for Senior and Young category totaling to eight awards, will be presented on the occasion of Women’s Day celebrated on 8th March this year. The awards will be sector agnostic.
Committee may change the number of Awards to be given or may defer if the entries are not found suitable.
Eligibility Criteria
- National Women Scientist Award for Excellence in Translational Research
- Regular position in Indian Institute of repute
- Patents/Technology transfer / licenced to Indian Industry
- Technology commercialized by the industry partner and earning revenue
- Socio-economic impact of the innovation
- National Women Entrepreneur Award
- Founder Director/CEO of the Pvt Ltd./ public ltd company
- Company in technology space
- Innovative product must be successfully commercialized
- Socio-economic impact of the innovative product
