The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is accepting proposals to implement the E-Work project which has the output “Graduates in Gaza, particularly youth and women, have improved technical and freelancing skills demanded in the digital sector”.
UNDP partners with people at all levels of society to help build nations that can withstand crisis, and drive and sustain the kind of growth that improves the quality of life for everyone. On the ground in 177 countries and territories, they offer global perspective and local insight to help empower lives and build resilient nations.
Objectives
Therefore, through this intervention, UNDP aims for the following:
- Strengthening capacities of 385 unemployed graduates, at least 50% of whom will be women, through a well-designed technical training in freelancing
- 290 of the trained graduates, 50% women, are reporting that the job opportunity has positively influenced, to some extent, at least one aspect of their lives.
- 270 of the trained graduates, 50% women, are reporting that the training at least has increased, to some extent, their skills and possibilities for finding job opportunities.
- 270 of the trained graduates, 50% women, obtained their first job/ work assignment on the online platform (disaggregated by gender).
- The trained graduates, 50% women, obtained at least 1350 jobs/work assignments generated through online platforms.
- Ability to link this short-term intervention to longer-term job opportunities. Ability to ensure and effective selection process and bridging different capacity gaps through tailored trainings.
Duration/ Timeline
- The agreement will be for an initial period of 12 months and can be extended, contingent on the good performance of the selected partner, for another two years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs); Civil Society Organizations (CSOs); International Non-governmental organizations (INGOs); or Private companies that has its constitution assigning any profit gains from the project to social responsibility.
- Be clear of any conflict of interest whether in relation to UNDP, national and local authorities, or to potential partners or sub-contractors. Applicants must provide a signed ‘no conflict-of-interest statement’, filling in the provided form.
- Registered in accordance with the national legislation.
- No consistent history of court/arbitral award decisions against the bidder for the last 3 years.
- Indicate the number of years of relevant experience of the:
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs); Civil Society Organizations (CSOs); International Non-governmental organizations (INGOs); or Private companies that has its constitution assigning any profit gains from the project to social responsibility.
- Have at least 4 years of experience in managing and implementing technical and freelancing programmes
- The IP has implemented a minimum of two (2) similar projects.
