Applications are now open for the Spiralation Tech Startup Support Program, an initiative of the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka, the apex ICT institution of the Government of Sri Lanka focuses on supporting new technology entrepreneurs.
The program includes, but not limited to, seed funding, training, networking sessions, encouragement programmes, hackathons, and business promotion opportunities to breech market gaps locally and internationally. The goal of Spiralation is to promote, encourage and support technology related entrepreneurship and innovation within Sri Lanka.
Since the inception in 2010, Spiralation has supported more than 90 startups across multiple industry verticals such as health, finance, agriculture, education and logistics providing more than 500 job opportunities in the industry. It has been giving an exposure to 30+ countries international market and several of these startups have also gone internationally. Partnered with key organizations of the ecosystem in both private and public sectors and armed with a very good resource people panel, it came across a very successful journey that has been achieved more than 80% success rate of incubated startups so far.

- Selected startups will receive upto LKR 1.5 Million in seed funding.

- Depending on the applicants who get selected for the cohort, further trainings and workshops will be organized by Spiralation as per the requirements of the cohort.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only the startups that are listed in StartupSL Platform will be considered for Spiralation.
- All information provided in the application should be accurate. In case any misrepresentation or wrong information is provided, the proposal shall be liable for rejection.
- All applications should be submitted in English. The language must be simple, clear and to the point.
- Handwritten proposals will not be accepted.
- All applications should be submitted through the registration form in spiralation.com. Applications submitted in any other method will not be accepted. (Note: As this form contains file uploads, it’s advisable to use laptop/desktop than a mobile device)
- Selections will be based on a 3 stage evaluation process as follows.
- Stage 1 – Application shortlisting
- Stage 2 – Business pitching
- Stage 3 – Technical pitching
- After a detailed evaluation of the proposal, the proposals with the highest scores in pre-determined criteria will be awarded the grant.
- After award, all selected applicants will require to carry out an incorporation of their company. A confirmation of work which details a full project plan (including Gantt chart of implementation activities and post-implementation monitoring and evaluation) has to be submitted to ICTA. The reimbursements will be disbursed according to agreed project milestones extracted from this project plan.
