Call for Expression of Interest: ProAgri Project in Chad

Deadline: 04-Oct-2025

The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a new funding opportunity aimed at strengthening food security and livelihoods in Chad, specifically targeting the regions of Wadi Fira, Ouaddai, Sila, Lac, and Logone Oriental.

The World Food Programme (WFP) is implementing a crucial initiative in Chad to enhance food security and livelihoods for vulnerable communities in the Wadi Fira, Ouaddai, Sila, Lac, and Logone Oriental regions. With a funding allocation of 280000, this initiative is part of the ProAgri project, which focuses on empowering refugee and Indigenous producers to achieve self-reliance and greater participation in agricultural markets.

Central to the project is the organization of producers into cooperatives in compliance with OHADA law, providing them with a formal structure to improve collaboration, resource sharing, and collective bargaining power. These cooperatives are expected to serve as the foundation for sustainable agricultural development in the targeted areas.

The project also supports the establishment and operation of innovation platforms linked to the agricultural value chain. These platforms are designed to foster collaboration, identify market opportunities, introduce improved practices, and strengthen local agricultural systems, ensuring that smallholder farmers gain access to new techniques and resources.

Additionally, the initiative is funding the identification, selection, and implementation of individual and collective microprojects. These microprojects will support income generation, productivity improvements, and diversification of livelihoods, helping producers build resilience and reduce vulnerability.

To ensure lasting impact, the project emphasizes capacity building through training and support in income-generating activities (IGAs). By strengthening the skills and knowledge of beneficiaries, WFP aims to create sustainable livelihoods, enhance food security, and promote long-term economic stability across the targeted regions of Chad.
