Community Adaptation and Ecosystem Restoration Project in El Salvador

The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), with support from the World Food Programme (WFP), is implementing a project in the Goascorán River Basin to strengthen the climate change adaptation capacity and resilience of vulnerable communities.

This project integrates various ecosystem-based adaptation strategies, climate risk management, and access to climate information for decision-making in local livelihoods.

The project’s main objective is to strengthen the adaptive capacities of climate-vulnerable populations located in the Goascorán River Basin of El Salvador and Honduras through integrated community-based adaptation practices and services.
