Apply for Tobacco Control Strategic Grant Program (Round 38)

Sex Worker Giving Circle Fellowship Program 2025

Deadline: 31-Jul-2025

Applications are now open for the Tobacco Control Strategic Grant Program, which supports the development and delivery of impactful, evidence-based tobacco control interventions. This program is managed by Vital Strategies to enhance government and NGO efforts in reducing tobacco use. The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is also involved, focusing on strategic advocacy campaigns that are politically feasible.

Grants range from US$50,000 to US$250,000 per year, with project durations accepted between six and twenty-four months. Proposals are welcomed from both governmental and non-governmental organizations based in eligible countries.

Eligible government entities include national ministries, provincial and municipal authorities, and affiliated offices. NGOs must have relevant advocacy experience in policy change or implementation. These can include civil society organizations, universities, and independent policy think tanks. All applicants must be legally registered entities, capable of receiving international funds and entering into binding agreements.

NGOs linked to tobacco companies or those receiving funds from tobacco industry-backed initiatives like PMI IMPACT or the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World are not eligible to apply. Additionally, individuals are not eligible for funding, and the program does not support educational programs, agricultural projects, or basic research studies. It also excludes funding for prevalence surveys and cessation services, as those are supported separately by other initiatives.

Projects should focus on addressing strategic gaps in national tobacco control efforts and must not duplicate work already being done.
