Third Edition of the French-German Gender Equality Prize in Azerbaijan

The French and German Embassies in Azerbaijan jointly launch the third edition of the French-German Gender Equality Prize which aims at rewarding an Azerbaijani initiative that contributes to gender equality in Azerbaijan.

The final contest will take place at the beginning of June before a jury appointed jointly by the French and German Embassies.The Award ceremony will take place in mid-June.

Prize Information

• The French and German Embassies in Azerbaijan join forces to offer the third edition of the French-German Gender Equality Prize of Azerbaijan. France and Germany actively seek to promote equal rights and equal opportunities for girls and women in Azerbaijan.

Project

• Each applicant is invited to present a project that she/he has initiated and is leading. The project submitted by the applicant must be a concrete project already undertaken and currently in progress (no virtual project is eligible). It is therefore necessary to demonstrate that the project has already begun and has been implemented, in part or in full.

Eligibility Criteria

• All Azerbaijani girls, boys, women and men engaged in a concrete initiative for gender equality in one of the following areas are encouraged to send their applications :
  • Promoting women leadership in politics or business;
  • Promoting creative women in art and culture;
  • Promoting women’s role in conflict resolution and peace-building process;
  • Combating gender-based violence;
  • Challenging gender-based stereotypes.
• Terms of participation
  • The French and German Embassies will pre-select the five best projects, a jury appointed jointly by the French and German Embassies will review the five finalist applicants. These five candidates will present their initiative in English to the jury members and answer their questions. The jury will then select the final winner. The French and German Embassies will offer the winner of the contest a grant, consisting of a financial contribution to the project.
