The Institute of Thai Studies is excited to announce its International Thai Studies Research Grants through the Empowering Network for International Thai Studies (ENITS) Project at Chulalongkorn University. These grants aim to encourage scholars in Thai Studies by supporting the production of high-quality academic articles.

The research themes include Tai-Thai Studies as both area studies and a specific field, Buddhist Studies with a focus on Theravada and Thai Buddhism, trends or critical theories related to the Tai-Thai region, ASEAN regional and comparative research, and Thai and ASEAN food studies.

Fifteen grants of 40,000 THB each will be awarded to selected researchers to assist with their work. Additional travel support is available for international scholars: 30,000 THB per grantee for those traveling from the Americas, Europe, or Africa, and 10,000 THB for those coming from Asia or Oceania.

These grants aim to foster international scholarly exchange and advance interdisciplinary research in Thai Studies. Eligible applicants include academics, independent researchers, and advanced graduate students with a strong commitment to the field.

Recipients must submit an original, unpublished research paper in English, between 8,000 and 10,000 words, on a Thai Studies topic. Grantees are also required to present their research orally at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. The university reserves the right to publish or disseminate the granted research papers.
