Deadline: 30-Jan-2026
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) have launched a joint call for proposals under the Protocol on Cooperation in Science and Technology.
This initiative invites universities, research institutions, and eligible private sector entities to submit joint research and development (R&D) project proposals aimed at fostering international collaboration, advancing scientific knowledge, and solving technological challenges.
The program is designed to strengthen partnerships between Turkish and German researchers, enabling them to collaborate across borders, access new research environments, and share expertise. Projects supported under this call should contribute to the advancement of scientific and technological research by generating new knowledge, developing innovative interpretations, or addressing complex technological problems. There is no specific thematic focus, allowing applicants to propose projects in any scientific or technological discipline.
Funding will be provided separately to Turkish and German partners. On the Turkish side, TÜBİTAK will offer up to 1,600,000 Turkish Liras per project, covering eligible expenses such as travel, representation, and scholarships for students. Turkish researchers will receive support for both domestic and international travel, including economy-class airfare for scientific visits between Türkiye and Germany, as well as a daily allowance as per national regulations. Representation and promotion expenses are capped at 57,500 Turkish Liras per project.
On the German side, DAAD will provide up to 10,000 EUR per year for eligible institutions to support project-related activities. This bilateral funding structure ensures that both Turkish and German teams can carry out their respective research components effectively while maintaining close collaboration.
Applications are open to public research and technology development entities, universities, non-university research establishments, and private sector organizations in Türkiye. Turkish applicants must be registered in the TÜBİTAK ARBIS (Researcher Information System) to be eligible for funding under the TÜBİTAK 1071 Program.
Through this joint initiative, TÜBİTAK and DAAD aim to strengthen scientific cooperation between Türkiye and Germany, encourage knowledge exchange, and foster long-term research partnerships that contribute to innovation and global scientific progress.
