Deadline: 15-Oct-2025

The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program offers research opportunities at U.S. universities and research institutions for Ukrainian scholars, researchers, and other professionals.

The program is open to eligible fields in the Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as Hard Sciences, Technology, and Engineering. It targets scholars and teaching faculty, who are either teaching at higher education institutions or are affiliated with academic, research, or cultural institutions, including libraries, archives and museums, or with NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations).

The program is intended for scholars and teaching faculty at higher education institutions, or those affiliated with academic, research, or cultural institutions, including libraries, archives, museums, and NGOs. Academic candidates must hold a post-graduate degree such as a Kandydat Nauk, Ph.D., Ph.D. in Arts, or Doctor Nauk. Professionals and artists can be exempt from this requirement if they have at least 10 years of professional experience and recognized standing. The program provides grants for a duration of three to nine months. Experience gained as an undergraduate or graduate student does not count toward years of experience for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program. Candidates who have resided abroad for five or more consecutive years in the six-year period preceding the date of application are ineligible.

The application components include an Online Application, Project Statement, Curriculum Vitae or Resume (must include a list of the applicant’s publications), Select Bibliography, Three Letters of Reference, a Letter of Invitation (which is encouraged but not required), and a Mandatory Supplemental Form – Consent to the Processing of Personal Data.

The program offers several benefits, which include a round-trip international flight, a monthly stipend, a settling-in allowance, accident and sickness coverage, and a professional allowance. The application deadline for the 2026-2027 program is October 15, 2025.
