Call for Applications: Curators based in Central and Eastern Europe

#image_title

Deadline: 17-Aug-2025

The Delfina Foundation is inviting curators from Central and Eastern Europe to apply for a four-week residency in London. This opportunity is scheduled from 17 November to 14 December 2025, during the foundation’s open autumn residency season.

Each year, Delfina Foundation organizes four three-month residency sessions. These residencies either focus on independent open research or are based around a specific theme. The upcoming residency will be part of the open season, providing space and time for curators to pursue their personal research interests.

The selected participant will receive full support, including an economy-class return flight and UK airport transfers. If required, the foundation will reimburse visa costs. The residency also provides a daily living allowance of £40, a materials budget of £400, a local travel pass, and a private room within Delfina Foundation’s shared residency house in London. This house accommodates up to eight residents and includes communal spaces such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, library, and dining room.

During the residency, curators will have opportunities to engage with the UK art scene through both independent time and structured activities. These include professional development sessions like presentations, critiques, portfolio reviews, and mentoring. Participants will also meet and interact with artists, researchers, and academics through studio visits, events, and shared meals.

The program encourages collaborative exchange among residents and offers guided visits to museums, galleries, artist-run spaces, and institutions both in and outside London.

Applicants must be citizens or long-term residents of one of the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine. They must be actively working in their country, seeking to develop their practice through research, and able to demonstrate how the residency could support their career and community. English proficiency is required.
