Call for Competition: Young Creatives to Disseminate Research Findings

Call for Applications: Spencer Foundation Vision Grants Program

Deadline: 15-Oct-2025

The Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment invites applications from dynamic teams and organisations owned and managed by young people between the ages of 18 and 35 to design and produce creative outputs that disseminate findings from a study covering 17 African countries.

A unique opportunity is now open for young creatives across Africa through a competition launched by the Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment. The initiative invites youth-led teams from Southern, East, West, and North Africa to submit proposals that creatively communicate key research findings on youth employment in the nonprofit sector. Each of the four regional winners will receive a prize of US$32,000, bringing the total prize pool to US$128,000.

The award will be disbursed in two stages. An initial amount of US$5,000 will be given upon announcement of the winners. The remaining US$27,000 will be paid out in tranches, aligned with specific milestones in the development and delivery of the proposed project. This phased approach ensures continued support and accountability throughout the creative process.

Beyond the financial prize, winners will benefit from mentorship provided by experts, along with increased exposure through CAPSI’s platforms and partner networks. Selected teams will also have the chance to present their work at high-level policy and donor forums across Africa, further expanding the reach and impact of their projects.

Eligibility is limited to teams or organisations that are owned and managed by young people aged 18 to 35. Applicants must submit valid identification for verification, and any misrepresentation of personal information, especially age, will lead to immediate disqualification. Preference will be given to participants from the 17 African countries that were part of the original research project.

To ensure broader participation, proposals can be submitted in English, French, Portuguese, or Arabic. This competition not only offers a financial boost but also provides a valuable platform for youth to showcase their creativity, amplify their voices, and contribute to meaningful conversations about work, dignity, and the future of African societies.
