Deadline: 26-November-2025
Applications are now open for the Individual Arts Bursaries Award to support artist working in multiple art forms, including Visual Arts, Circus, Dance and Literature.
The scheme aligns with key cultural strategies and aims to strengthen Limerick’s cultural capacity by supporting and attracting creative practitioners, fostering the development and presentation of new artistic work, and promoting excellence and high standards in all cultural activities.
The bursary supports activities such as the production of new artistic work for exhibition, publication, or presentation; research or short-term courses in Ireland; structured mentoring relationships; and professional capacity improvements like website development or documentation. The scheme also considers other purposes that contribute to an artist’s development.
The bursary offers up to €4,000 for artistic and professional development. Funding is available for projects or activities taking place up to 31st December 2026.
Eligible applicants must be professional artists aged 18 or above who are not in full-time undergraduate or postgraduate education during the bursary period. They must demonstrate a recognised professional standing in their field, whether through qualifications, professional engagements, publications, exhibitions, or peer recognition.
Film practitioners are excluded from the 2026 bursary round, as they will have their own separate open calls. Non-artistic activities and academic courses not related to professional arts practice are ineligible for funding.
Applications must include a completed and signed form, an up-to-date CV, up to six high-quality work samples, and an explanation of how the proposal aligns with Limerick’s Cultural Strategy. Additional materials, such as letters of support, project timelines, budgets, or training offer letters, may be submitted if relevant.
All submissions must adhere to the technical requirements outlined by Limerick City and County Council, including file size limits and accepted formats. Successful applicants will receive grant payments in two instalments: 80% upfront and 20% after submitting a project report. All funds must be drawn down by Friday, 7th November 2026.
Recipients must comply with grant procedures, health and safety requirements, and reporting obligations. Limerick City and County Council reserves the right to request additional information, modify grant conditions, or terminate funding in cases of non-compliance.
The deadline for submission is 5pm on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, and late applications will not be accepted.
