Nature of Us // Mobility for Artists and Scientists based in Hungary

Submissions open for Rogers Youth Grants Program in Canada

Deadline: 31-Jul-2025

The Workshop Foundation has announced an open call for a short-term mobility opportunity aimed at one artist and one scientist or researcher. This program focuses on fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between the performing arts and natural sciences, particularly around climate change and environmental conservation.

The exchange is designed to encourage mutual understanding and inspiration between professionals from these fields. It offers the chance to attend an event, conference, or field project outside one’s usual discipline, allowing participants to explore new methods, environments, and perspectives.

This initiative responds to the performing arts’ growing need to engage with ecological issues and create impactful work for modern audiences. At the same time, it gives scientists fresh ways to communicate their research through storytelling, emotion, and aesthetics, tools that artists uniquely provide. The collaboration aims to inspire societal awareness and promote behavioral change for climate action.

Funding covers short-term mobility—local or international—to attend relevant conferences, projects, or events in the other discipline. Applicants choose their destination or activity based on their interests. Financial support is up to €1200 per person, which includes a fee of €150 per day (up to 4 days) covering per diem and local transport, plus up to €600 for travel and accommodation. Longer mobility is possible within this budget.

Travel can be to any country, as long as the activity aligns with the program’s cross-disciplinary goals. Eligible applicants must be based in Hungary and include performing artists interested in scientific or cross-disciplinary perspectives, and scientists or researchers open to artistic practices and interdisciplinary exchange.
