Deadline: 05-Feb-2026

The National Research, Development and Innovation Office of Hungary has announced a funding opportunity under the Széchenyi Plan Plus program for research and knowledge-dissemination organisations to support the complex development of domestic research infrastructures.

This call for proposals is open to organisations that operate as research centres of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network managing excellent or emerging research infrastructures, as well as their managing, maintaining, operating, or supervisory bodies. Special-status organisations operating excellent or emerging research infrastructures, budgetary bodies operating research infrastructures, and business companies running research infrastructures are also eligible. Applicants can submit proposals individually or in consortium form.

The funding is designed to support compulsory activities such as the procurement of equipment, implementation of RDI activities, and other activities directly supporting RDI projects. Optional activities include enhancing the performance and service efficiency of public-purpose research infrastructures, supporting researcher pipelines, modernising research-related buildings, and developing research collaborations.

The available budget for this call is HUF 26,000,000,000, with individual project funding ranging from HUF 50,000,000 to HUF 4,000,000,000. The duration for supported projects is up to 36 months, and applications are expected to cover fundamental research, industrial research, experimental development, and investments in RDI. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the Electronic Portal for Proposals, Information and Communication (EPTK).
