Deadline: 17-Oct-2025
The Travel Grants provides support to students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in aerospace-related sciences or engineering fields, including astrobiology, astronomy, earth and space science, and engineering, by providing funding to attend conferences where they will present their research.
The focus areas, objectives, priorities, or themes include: Travel Grants of up to $1000, with no individual award greater than $500, contingent upon acceptance of the recipients’ conference abstracts, use for either virtual or in-person conferences, number of awards based on applicants’ needs, requirement to participate in or attend the conference using the Travel Grant and, if necessary, support from other sources, and that supplemental funds above the awarded amount cannot be requested from the Soffen Fund.
The Travel Grant can be used by recipients to attend conferences either virtually or in-person, giving students flexibility in how they engage with their field. Upon receipt of the Travel Grant, recipients are required to acknowledge the grant in their presentations at the conference and submit their presentation materials to the Soffen Memorial Fund for posting on the fund’s Travel Grant web page. This ensures both recognition for the fund and a resource for future applicants.
Students of all nationalities who are enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution of higher learning in the United States are eligible to apply. Notification of the award is made approximately one month after the application deadline, following the completion of the review process.
The deadline for applications is 17 October 2025.
