Deadline: 26-Feb-2026
The National Research, Development and Innovation Fund has announced a call to support researchers, including early-career scientists, in making use of research and measurement opportunities offered by research infrastructures, as well as in getting to know the infrastructures.
The objective of the call, announced from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund, is to support researchers, including early-career scientists, in making use of research and measurement opportunities offered by research infrastructures (RIs), as well as in getting to know the infrastructures. Sub-programme “A”: Support for the use of research and measurement opportunities by domestic researchers – particularly in the case of infrastructures where Hungary is a full member. The sub-programme also provides an opportunity to organise group study trips to support the development of the researcher pipeline. Sub-programme “B”: Support for the use of major domestic research infrastructures by international researchers, thereby promoting their integration into international scientific networks and the flow of knowledge.
The call, managed by the NRDI Office, is designed to facilitate the effective use of both domestic and international research infrastructures by Hungarian and foreign researchers. It aims to promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building within the research community. Applications can be submitted electronically via the Electronic Portal for Proposals, Information and Communication (EPTK) after logging in through the Single Sign-on interface. Proposals must include a duly signed declaration verifying electronic submission in accordance with the Guidelines.
Proposals are accepted as long as the available funds last. Eligible applicants include legal entities with registered seats in Hungary or in the European Economic Area with a Hungarian branch, including enterprises, budgetary organs, higher education institutions, and non-profit research organisations.
Under Sub-programme A, eligible activities include travel abroad, stays, project-related travel, dissemination of results, and instrument usage fees. Group study trips are also supported for participants in the researcher pipeline, including secondary school and undergraduate students, provided the activities are related to research infrastructures where Hungary is a full member. Sub-programme B supports inbound travel, stays, local project-related travel, dissemination activities, and material or equipment usage costs for foreign researchers conducting work at Hungarian research infrastructures.
The total available budget for this call is HUF 87.3 million, offering non-refundable funding with 100% intensity. Each project may receive between HUF 800,000 and HUF 5 million, with a maximum duration of 24 months.
