Semper Ardens Accelerate Grant Program (Denmark)

Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine announces Small Grants Program

Deadline: 01-Oct-2025

The Carlsberg Foundation is inviting applications for three to five years of funding to support the consolidation of newly appointed tenured associate professors’ independent research groups or research environments. Applicants can request up to DKK 7 million, which will be provided as a framework grant to cover relevant and necessary expenses for the project. Recipients will also have the opportunity to participate in a free research leadership course and attend networking events with other grant holders.

Funding can be used for running costs such as consumables, equipment, travel, research stays, inviting researchers, conferences, and research leadership courses. Salary support is available for postdoctoral fellows, PhD students with enrolment at a Danish graduate school, research assistants for limited periods, and student assistants. Salary costs for assistant professors are not eligible.

Applicants must be tenured associate professors appointed for a maximum of two years by the application deadline and employed at least 80% at one or more Danish research institutions throughout the grant period. The applicant must dedicate at least 50% of their research time to the project, with the majority of the work carried out in Denmark. Some work can be done at collaborating institutions in Denmark or abroad. Applicants holding similar career grants in the first half of their grant period are ineligible, while those in the second half must outline their time commitments for each project.

Applications must be submitted in English via the CF-Grant application system and meet all formal requirements to be considered. Incorrect grant type selection, failure to meet the specified criteria, or inclusion of non-required documents will result in administrative rejection. All documents must be uploaded in PDF format. Required attachments include a project description, budget, CV, publication list, a description of the research group and its networks, and a declaration from the host institution.
