Submissions open for Reintegration Fellowships (Denmark)

Fellowship

Deadline: 01-Oct-2025

The Carlsberg Foundation is offering Reintegration Fellowships to support postdoctoral fellows returning to Danish research institutions after working abroad. These fellowships last two years and aim to help researchers re-establish their careers in Denmark.

The foundation funds the fellow’s full salary and provides an additional DKK 8,000 per month for operating expenses. Applicants from Danish universities can also receive a project supplement to cover indirect costs. This supplement is DKK 200,000 per full-time equivalent (FTE) per year for humanities and social sciences projects, and DKK 250,000 per FTE per year for natural sciences. If special operating expenses are necessary, such as lab access or equipment, applicants can request an additional DKK 60,000.

To be eligible, applicants must hold a PhD from a Danish institution and have a strong connection to Danish research. Assistant professors cannot apply. Typically, applicants must be living abroad when applying and should have less than five years of experience since earning their PhD. Extensions are allowed for leaves such as parental or illness.

Applications must be submitted in English and include specific documents in PDF format: a project description, budget, CV, publication list, a declaration of support from the host institution, and recommendations. Applications not following these requirements or submitted under the wrong grant type will be rejected.
