The Top Women in Security ASEAN Region Awards is now open to all ASEAN member countries.
The Top Women in Security ASEAN Region Awards form part of a global campaign by the Women in Security & Resilience Alliance (WISECRA).
This initiative is open to all ASEAN member countries and follows successful awards in 2022, 2021 and was launched with the Top Women in Security Awards held during 2020 in Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines.
Award Categories
- ASEAN Country Award Singapore: Recognises Singapore specific security industry contributions, leadership, influence or mentoring. May not be limited to a single winner.
- ASEAN Country Award Malaysia: Recognises Malaysia specific security industry contributions, leadership, influence or mentoring. May not be limited to a single winner.
- ASEAN Country Award Indonesia: Recognises Indonesia specific security industry contributions, leadership, influence or mentoring. May not be limited to a single winner.
- ASEAN Country Award Thailand: Recognises Thailand specific security industry contributions, leadership, influence or mentoring. May not be limited to a single winner.
- ASEAN Country Award Vietnam: Recognises Vietnam specific security industry contributions, leadership, influence or mentoring. May not be limited to a single winner.
- ASEAN Country Award Philippines: Recognises Philippines specific security industry contributions, leadership, influence or mentoring. May not be limited to a single winner.
- ASEAN Country Award Cambodia: Recognises Cambodia, Brunei, Myanmar and Laos specific security industry contributions, leadership, influence or mentoring. May not be limited to a single winner.
- Cyber security: Recognises leadership, innovation or mentoring within the information and computer security (cybersecurity) domain.
- Asean Region Award: Recognises the Top Woman in Security for the Southeast Asia Region.
- Electronics Security: Recognises leadership, innovation or mentoring within the electronics and technical security domain, such as video surveillance, detection and access control systems.
- Securtiy Trainer or Educator: Recognises leadership, innovation or mentoring within the training or education domain relating to the security discipline.
- Risk Resilience Professionals: Recognises leadership, innovation or mentoring within the risk management and resilience discipline.
- Risk & Resilience Professional: Recognises leadership, innovation or mentoring within the risk management and resilience discipline.
- Security Researcher: Recognises leadership, innovation or mentoring within the security research domain.
- Security Professional Ambassador (Open Category): An open category to recognise a security professional who demonstrates advocacy and mentoring for generating positive and beneficial perceptions within the security discipline.
- Cyber Risk Leader (Open Category): An open category for professionals demonstrating industry leadership across the ASEAN Region in the fields of cybersecurity, risk and resilience.
Eligibility Criteria
- This initiative is open to all ASEAN member countries and follows successful awards in 2022, 2021 and was launched with the Top Women in Security Awards held during 2020 in Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines.
- Nominations generally include women holding senior security roles including CISO, Global Head of Cyber Threat Prevention, Operation Director, Senior Business Director, Executive Director – Information & Cyber Security Risk, Security Lead – Cybersecurity GRC and Threat Exposure Management lead.
- Self-nominations are welcome. Nominees (other than for Open Category Awards) must be women with more than three years of experience in the security industry, be that in cybersecurity, electronics, physical, protective and risk management roles. Open Category Awards are open to all (men and women).
Judging Process
- Judges will be asked to look at each nomination individually and score between 1 to 20 for each nomination. Where there are multiple nominations for one individual, judges are asked to score each nomination.
- Judge’s scores will be collated to determine the highest scores for each respective award category. Nominees may select multiple category options. When there is a tie in points, the award will be shared.

- Mentoring and Coaching activities
- Projects, Programs and Events participation
- Research importance
- Education and Teaching contribution
- Support for creation of women in security initiatives
