Apply for International Presenters Fund (New Zealand)

Albert-Eden Local Board Accommodation Fund (New Zealand)

Deadline: 15-Oct-2025

The Creative NZ is seeking applications for its International Presenters Fund to reduce financial barriers for touring work from Aotearoa New Zealand and strengthens connections between artists, international presenters and audiences.

The fund prioritizes supporting dynamic, diverse, and resilient New Zealand arts that are valued both in Aotearoa and internationally, in alignment with Creative New Zealand’s Interim Investment Intentions 2023–25; assessing the relevance and potential impact of opportunities for New Zealand artists and the advancement of sustainable careers; reviewing the applicant’s financial and logistical investment in the activity, including artist fees, production costs, touring expenses, and per diems and determining whether the proposed activity stems from a Creative New Zealand initiative or previous investment.

The International Presenters Fund 2025 – Round 2 offers $260,000 to support travel costs for programmed New Zealand artists and their work. Applicants can request up to $50,000 towards touring costs, though grants over $40,000 will only be considered by exception. Funding can be used specifically for flights, transit, accommodation, and freight.

Eligible activities include multi-city tours with two or more presentations of the same New Zealand work in different locations, or programmes highlighting New Zealand art that feature two or more works by different New Zealand artists or groups. It is essential that participating New Zealand artists are paid guaranteed, fair fees, as presentations that rely on ticket sales or box-office splits are not eligible. Artists must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, and the funded activity must take place between 1 February 2026 and 30 June 2027.

The fund cannot cover artist fees and cannot be used to support arts organisations or companies already contracted to deliver international outcomes through Creative New Zealand’s Toi Tōtara Haemata or Toi Uru Kahikatea investment programmes. Applicants must be international presenters, including venues, arts festivals, and curators, while New Zealand-based presenters and artists are not eligible to apply. However, New Zealand-based applicants can explore other Creative New Zealand funds such as the Creative Impact Fund, Creative Fellowship Fund, Early Career Fund, or Arts Organisations and Groups Fund to support international opportunities.

Applicants are encouraged to include additional documents or weblinks to demonstrate eligibility, support application responses, and help assessors understand their practice and the proposed activities. Acceptable file formats include PDF, Word, Excel, image, audio, and online viewable links. Applications close at 1:00 PM on 15 October 2025 (NZ time), with activities to take place from 1 February 2026 to 30 June 2027. Applicants will be notified of results by 12 December 2025.
