The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut is inviting proposals for its 2026 Small Scale Projects program, an initiative aimed at supporting locally driven development efforts that align with national priorities. The scheme encourages projects that promote gender equality, environmental respect and sustainability—projects should be designed so that they can continue operating without ongoing financial assistance. There is also a preference for initiatives that involve Czech partners in some way, whether via procurement of Czech products or sharing Czech expertise.

Funding for accepted projects falls between 200,000 and 500,000 Czech crowns, roughly 9,000 to 22,000 US dollars. Applicants may seek additional co‑funding if available, though the Czech contribution must be spent explicitly on achieving the main project goal. Costs associated with administration, salaries, travel, or other personal expenses must be carefully budgeted—such expenses should not exceed 25% of the total project cost, and the overhead costs must be covered by the applicant.

Local non‑governmental organizations and other civil society groups registered in Lebanon are the intended recipients of this funding. Organizations must be non‑political and legally able to enter into a contract subject to Czech law. Institutions in education, health, social services, and culture may also apply provided their proposals are genuinely local in scope.

They need to include a completed identification form, proof of legal status, and documentation of the authority of the person submitting the proposal. Project implementation is expected to begin in March 2026 and must be completed by the end of October 2026, with a final report including financial documentation due within one month of project completion.

This opportunity gives community organizations a chance to secure modest but meaningful funding to support sustainable development, strengthen local capacities, and enhance the visibility of Czech development cooperation
