The Cultural Services, City of Eugene Windowfront Exhibitions is inviting applications from artists to help enliven Downtown Eugene through the placement of artwork in storefront window installations. All empty spaces have great potential to be transformed by artists and innovation.
Themes may include lumination, Black History, Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage, Women’s History, sustainability, LGBTQIA, and work that expresses the timeline, inspires wonder and invokes dialogue.
The Cultural Services is seeking artists for these upcoming Windowfront Exhibitions dates:
- Decem ber 2021-March 2022
- March 2022-June 2022
- July 2022 -September 2022
Eligibility Criteria
- The opportunity is available for any Oregon artist over 18 years of age, who is interested in creating an installation that will be displayed for up to three months. Established, emerging and student artists are encouraged to apply. They are interested in all variety of 2D / 3D and digital concepts. This could range from sculpture, lighting design, projections, hung painting / graphics, or anything else that might enliven downtown and intrigue passers-by.
- Given the number of available windows, 3-9 artists will be selected for this call.
- It is not required that awarded installations only use funding from this opportunity, so selected artists may use existing artwork or outside funds as available.
- In support of Windowfront Exhibition’s commitment to achieving greater Racial Equity across the art s sector, submissions from artists of color are particularly encouraged.
