The National Cooperative Development Corporation, in collaboration with MyGov, is pleased to announce an Essay Competition to encourage citizens to share their views and ideas on the theme: Topic of the Essay in English: “Increasing significance of cooperatives in changing times”

An exciting opportunity is now open for citizens across India to contribute their ideas and creativity toward strengthening the cooperative movement. This initiative is aimed at raising awareness about the significant role cooperatives play in achieving sustainable development. It also seeks to inspire individuals, particularly the youth, to actively participate in discussions and policy-making related to cooperatives in the country.

The competition encourages participants to share innovative and impactful ideas that can help enhance the functioning and reach of cooperatives. By doing so, it hopes to foster a greater understanding of how these community-driven organizations contribute to economic growth, social inclusion, and long-term sustainability.

Indian citizens of all ages are eligible to take part in this contest. Submissions are accepted in either Hindi or English, based on the participant’s preference. Each entry must be a maximum of 1500 words, with a grace allowance of up to 50 words.

To recognize and reward outstanding contributions, a series of prizes will be awarded. The top three winners will receive ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 respectively. Additionally, three consolation prizes of ₹2,000 each will be given to commend noteworthy entries that show promise and originality.

This initiative offers a meaningful platform for individuals to voice their ideas and engage with a vital sector that directly impacts millions of lives. It not only rewards creativity but also nurtures civic engagement and policy-level thinking on how cooperatives can be strengthened to better serve communities across the country.
