Deadline: 10-Dec-2025
The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen has launched its CCP Fellowship Programme for civil society professionals to gain international experience, expand their networks, and enhance their transcultural skills.
The CCP Fellowship 2026 focuses on key areas including Policy and society, Media and culture, Human rights and peace, Sustainable development and climate justice, Culture of remembrance, and Democratic Resilience.
Fellows spend two to three months working with host organisations in Germany or CCP partner countries, broadening their expertise and contributing to the goals of the host organisation through their regional knowledge and professional networks. Participants also have the chance to engage in transcultural workshops, networking events, and professional meetings organized by the CCP, and the skills and experiences gained abroad are intended to be applied in the work of their home organisations upon returning.
In 2026, the programme will primarily offer on-site fellowships, though digital participation may be possible depending on individual circumstances and travel regulations. The programme is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
Participants from abroad are provided a monthly stipend of 650 euros, round-trip airfare, accommodation, public transportation, health insurance, and reimbursement of any visa fees. Participants from Germany receive a monthly stipend of 1,200 euros, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and visa fee reimbursement. The programme does not cover costs for accompanying family members.
The CCP Fellowship is open to applicants who are at least 23 years old and have at least two years of proven professional or volunteer experience in a civil society organisation in their home country. Candidates must have a solid command of written and spoken English and be able to undertake a prolonged stay abroad. Students are not eligible to apply. Desirable qualifications include long-term social or community commitment, existing or planned collaboration with an organisation in the host country, and additional language skills, particularly German.
Fellows receive extensive support to facilitate their professional development. This includes collaboration with a host organisation from the CCP network, mentoring throughout the fellowship, professional development opportunities either online or on-site, a 3–4 day transcultural workshop, networking with other CCP Fellows, and inclusion in the CCP alumni network.
To apply, candidates must select the relevant country call on the application portal, complete the online application form, and upload all required documents, including a CV in English and a letter of recommendation from a supervisor.
The application period for CCP Fellowships 2026 closes on 10 December 2025.
