Call for Applications: Academy of Women’s Political Leadership (Haiti)

WVL-SA: Rapid Response Grants in South Africa

Deadline: 6-Oct-21

The UN Women Office in Haiti, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Status of Women and Women’s Rights (MCFDF) and the International Organization of La Francophonie, is relaunching its call for applications for a training course for trainers of the Academy of Women’s Political Leadership (ALPF).

This Academy aims to contribute to the consolidation of governance with a greater participation of women in the management of public affairs by strengthening the political leadership capacities of women. This is a capacity building program for aspiring women to hold elected positions through certification political leadership training workshops that includes mentoring activities and leads to the delivery of a certificate.

The ALPF is implementing one of the recommendations of the National Forum “Women, Peace and Political Participation” (Ann chita pale) which took place on April 3 and 4, 2019, on the occasion of the commemoration of the National Day of Haitian Woman Movement. The roadmap of this forum reaffirms the urgent need to promote respect for the constitutional quota of 30% of women in the management of public affairs and the importance of strengthening the political capacities of women who aspire to be candidates for elections.
