Open Call for Art Women Antiracists in the US

Global Networks Presentation Fund in New Zealand

Deadline: 31-Dec-21

The Women Soaring Project (WSP) is inviting the public to submit artwork related to the theme of Women Antiracists.

Artists should submit their best 2-D art (ie, photography, painting, drawing, prints, mixed-media, etc.) related to the “Women Antiracists” theme, which commemorates and appreciates women who champion racial equality and seek to correct racial injustice.

WSP encourages entries from all individuals regardless of their experience or education. Everyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to participate.

At the close of the entry period, a group of jurors will choose three artists who will be awarded a $ 500 honorarium to give an artist talk about their work and answer questions from the public in an online venue. The show will be on view from March 1 – 31, 2022 in the WSP Gallery.

The Women Soaring Project (WSP) is the work of two best friends who endeavor to acknowledge and honor women in history and more importantly, women in general.

Each art exhibit focuses on a designated theme (eg, women activists, women suffragists, etc.) and highlights noteworthy women in their field. It gives participants a chance to learn about the historical figures as well as the opportunity to contribute their own artwork about women whom they appreciate. The collected artworks of participants are compiled into an online gallery so that visitors can explore and learn.

Women Antiracists, commemorates eight notable women who fought against systems of racial bias and oppression in U.S. history while inviting individuals to submit 2-D artwork that honor women antiracists.
