Call for Proposals: Supporting Recycling & Upcycling Business Incubation in Nepal

This Request for Proposal is aimed at supporting projects in the states of Eastern Equatoria, Western Equatoria, Northern Bahr El Ghazal, and Upper Nile in South Sudan. It seeks a qualified service provider—such as a national NGO, civil society organization, or firm—to deliver institutional capacity building and business development services to Rural Producer Organizations. These include Agricultural Producer Groups (APGs), Rural Producer Organizations (RPOs), Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), and Cooperatives.

Participation is open to all eligible proposers, with a strong encouragement for businesses owned by women and persons with disabilities. Proposers must have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements with UNDP. They may be of any nationality, except for those specifically restricted. The nationality of a proposer is determined by the country in which it is legally constituted and operates under that country’s laws.

The Team Leader must hold a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, international relations, or a related field. They should have at least ten years of project management experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and five years of relevant experience in South Sudan. Fluency in English and Arabic or a local language is required.

The Business Development Service Expert must also have a relevant bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in business development services, entrepreneurship training, and skills training linked to agriculture value chains. Experience in the private sector is necessary, along with fluency in English and Arabic or a local language.

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer is expected to meet similar educational and experience criteria as the Business Development Expert. This includes a relevant bachelor’s degree, five years of experience in delivering business development and entrepreneurship support, experience in the private sector, and fluency in both English and Arabic or a local language.
