Deadline: 15-Aug-22

The International Center for Peace, Human Rights, and Development (IPHRD)-Africa in partnership with the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) welcomes applications from young men and young women peacebuilders based in the Horn of Africa (Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, and South Sudan) for peace mediation and negotiation training.

The Project on Youth and Young Women Leaders Mediation and Regional Advocacy Initiatives is being implemented by IPHRD-Africa with support from the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA).

The Youth and Young Women Leaders Mediation and Regional Advocacy Initiatives project seeks to build and enhance the mediation capacities of young men and women who are in leadership position in Horn of Africa, more particularly in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Somalia to prepare them to effectively engage in mediation efforts in their communities, at track 1, 2, and 3 levels of mediation. The project will work with youth and especially young women between the ages of 18-30 years. The Mediation and Negotiation Training for Youth is part of this project.

The call for application is for young men and women from Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan who are implementing peace initiatives at local, national and regional level. The training will be a combination of expert presentations, case studies and interactive simulations to improve participant’s skills, coupled with sharing experiences and good practices sessions. The training is planned for 29-31 August 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya.
