EUNIC Cluster Project: 'Europe-Caribbean Co-Creation Hub'

The EUNIC Cluster (European Union National Institutes for Culture) in Cuba promotes the project “Europe-Caribbean Co-Creation Hub” and opens the call for the submission of creative proposals that contribute to the promotion of cultural relations between young people from Europe and the Caribbean.

The project, co-financed by the Cluster Fund 2022 and the Italian, Spanish and French Embassies in Havana, was selected by EUNIC Global. In addition, it assisted and supported by the UNESCO programme Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity, funded by the European Union.

Proposals can be submitted by young creators between 18 and 35, nationals and permanent residents of one of the Member States of the European Union and Associated Countries (EUNIC members) and from one of the following 17 Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. Proposals must focus on a co-creation activity carried out by two creators: one from Europe and one from the Caribbean. The activity must take place in Havana, Cuba, in conjunction with a local associate (such as a gallery, cultural centre, educational institution, artist studio, etc.). All artistic/cultural/creative disciplines are covered Proposals must be unpublished and can be submitted either by the already formed Caribbean-European creative pairing or the local associate (gallery, cultural centre, educational institution, artist studios, etc.) that will host the co-creation project.

A jury, made up of the EUNIC Cluster in Cuba and its local partners, will evaluate the proposals and select the most relevant. They will ensure that they fall into one of the following areas of work:
