Deadline: 31-Oct-2025
The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched a new call for proposals to provide grants to local women’s and young women’s rights civil society organizations (CSOs) in Lebanon.
This initiative supports organizations working in three critical areas: humanitarian and crisis response, protection of women and girls, and peacebuilding and recovery. It directly contributes to WPHF’s mission of advancing peaceful and gender-equal societies.
The program prioritizes reaching women and girls who face multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination. This includes those marginalized due to geography, ethnicity, disability, age, migratory status, or health conditions such as HIV. The approach aligns with the 2030 Agenda and the principle of leaving no one behind. Projects must be implemented within Lebanon, as multi-country proposals or those outside the focus area will not be considered. Organizations may propose projects of up to 24 months in duration.
Two streams of funding are available under this call. Institutional funding, ranging from USD 2,500 to USD 30,000, is designed to strengthen the organizational and financial capacity of women’s rights and women-led groups. This stream focuses exclusively on supporting internal institutional development and will not finance programmatic activities. Programmatic funding, ranging from USD 30,000 to USD 300,000, supports initiatives directly aligned with WPHF impact areas. These include enhancing women’s participation in humanitarian response, ensuring safety and mental health of women and girls, and promoting socioeconomic recovery and political participation of women and young women in peacebuilding contexts.
Eligible applicants include national, regional, and grassroots CSOs that are women-led, youth-led, feminist, or rights-based, with a proven track record of advancing gender equality and supporting women, young women, and girls—particularly those affected by displacement. Special attention will be given to organizations led by women and youth who themselves face intersecting forms of discrimination, including displaced persons, ethnic minorities, and persons with disabilities.
Ineligible entities include international NGOs, government agencies, UN agencies, private individuals, private sector entities, and academic or research institutions. By targeting grassroots leadership and fostering inclusive participation, WPHF aims to empower women and young women in Lebanon to play a transformative role in crisis response, protection, and peacebuilding.
