The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples’ National Youth Council (CAP NYC) is pleased to announce the Annual Dwight Dorey Youth Advocacy Award to recognize youth for their achievements is a great way to build self-esteem; and more importantly, it establishes role models so others can see that their goals are tangible.

The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples’ National Youth Council (NYC) established this unique awards program to honour and show appreciation to both achievements and advocacy.

Categories
Award Information

Youth recipient (Age 15-29) will receive a cash reward of $1,000,  plaque and have their profile publicized -Adult recipient (Age 30 & up) will recerie a plaque and their profile publicized.

Eligibility Criteria

Indigenous ancestry (Status, Non-stalt Indians. Mobs, and Nunatunavut Inuit) ‘Must be residing off-reserve -Must be a member of a CAP a organization in good standing -Demonstrating advocacy for indigenous youth initiatives and an aptitude to be a positive role model in the community -Personal achievements that contribute to empowering/inspiring other indigenous youth in the following areas:
