RFPs: Non-fiction Books, Popularization of Science and Art Grant Program (Finland)

Improving Citizen Participation and Accountability in Local Government Service Delivery Processes in Health and Education - Uganda

Deadline: 31-Oct-2025

The Finnish Cultural Foundation is awarding grants for the popularization of science and art and for translating non-fiction literature.

You can apply for it for carrying out the work, for project expenses or both. You can apply for the grant for projects with a broad readership or projects focusing on a subject that is interesting to a wide audience. Writing or translating a non-fiction book in popularized form is considered literary work, not research.

The working grant for literary work amounts to €32,000 per year. Applicants may seek funding for the execution of the work, project-related expenses, or both.

Private individuals, working groups, and registered associations from all fields of science and arts are eligible to apply for this grant. The grant supports the production of popularized scientific and non-fiction literature aimed at a wide readership.

Required attachments, as listed in the Application Guidelines for Grants, must include a provisional commitment from a publishing partner. The funded work must be published in print, and publication details should be submitted with the final report on the use of the grant.

This grant is not awarded for privately published books, histories of local organizations or communities, or anniversary publications. Those projects may instead apply for a standard working grant or expenditure grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

The application round closes on 31 October 2025, until 4 pm.
