The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced the Logo Design Competition for improving the management and operation system of the new Aqaba Marine Reserve.
The Gulf of Aqaba is the only maritime area in Jordan, with a limited shoreline that extends for almost 27 Km. and provides access to the sea for activities such as ship transport, fishing, and industrial development that requires large amounts of cooling water. The coral reef ecosystems of the Gulf of Aqaba are the most significant feature of the marine environment in Jordan. These coral reefs are unique in that they are the northern-most tropical reef systems worldwide, have a high diversity of marine taxa, and provide habitat for endemic and rare marine species.
Objectives
- The objective of this contest is to develop and design a logo to be used by the marine reserve in Aqaba.
- This logo should reflect the purpose of this intervention, the national context of Aqaba, the importance of the first marine reserve in Jordan, and should be in line with the theme that is used by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
Benefits
- The winning brand logo will be used as the official brand of the marine reserve.
- The winner will be recognized as the participant that proposed the best logo in any information and communications material as well as any activity and event promoted by the project.
- The winner will receive JOD 1000 (one thousand Jordanian Dinars).
- The intellectual property of the selected brand logo will be transferred to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
Eligibility Criteria
- The contest is open to Jordanian graphic designers with a background in developed brands identity and logo design
- The Logo and name should reflect the objective marine reserve and its interventions.
- Logos can be formulated by a team with one submission.
Brand Design Parameters
- The logo will be featured on the Project website, social media, and different communication platforms. Thus, the logo should be eye-catching and legible.
- The logo can have different sizes, vertically and/or horizontally
- The final logo should be submitted in the format of, AI, JEPG, PNG and PDF
- Submitted logo cannot contain third parties’ copyrighted materials and may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published.
- The logo can include images, pictures, words or any figure that can identify the project.
