The Stanley Black & Decker has announced Empower Makers Global Impact Challenge to fund vocational skills training and reskilling programs in the construction and manufacturing sectors.
Funding Information
This year Stanley Black & Decker’s Empower Makers Global Impact Challenge will award up to $5 million in grants to nonprofits supporting trade workforce development initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
- 501(c)(3) organizations, U.S. public schools, and equivalent outside the U.S. with a valid organization email address
- Example Organizations & Programs: 11th & 12th grade U.S. high school career development with programs transitioning to the workforce in the trades, Vocational and Trade Schools, Maker Space, community colleges, nonprofits focused on Vocational and Trade Skills Development for Industry 4.0, Manufacturing and Construction (Any skilled trades or crafts involved in the four major types of construction include residential building, institutional and commercial building, specialized industrial construction, infrastructure and heavy construction).
- Programs focused on Trade Skills Training for displaced workers, the underserved (i.e., poverty and lack of resources) and underrepresented (i.e., insufficient or inadequate representation), women, veterans, and people of color.
Criteria
- All requests must be submitted through the online Benevity application process. No status calls or emails are accepted. Incomplete submissions are ineligible.
- Only one (1) request per organization for this specific grant opportunity.
- Your organization must be a 501(c)(3), U.S. public school, or equivalent outside of U.S. registered in Benevity and provide services directly to people in at least one of the following countries – United States, Mexico, Canada, India, United Kingdom, France, Brazil, China, and Germany.
- Each request must be accompanied by:
- A copy of the organization’s IRS Letter of Determination showing current 501(c)(3) status, U.S. public school, or equivalent outside of U.S. (Acceptable: EIN and 501(c)(3) tax documents or equivalent outside of U.S.) uploaded at the end of this application.
- An annual report within the country of operation.
- A disclosure of political relationships and Board of Directors.
- Annual key performance indicators based on the grant impact.
