The Charity Governance Awards is an exciting not-for-profit initiative created to celebrate outstanding governance in charities both small and large.
The awards will share the examples of inspirational trustees and brilliant boards to show how great governance and doing good go hand-in-hand.
These awards are exclusively dedicated to charity governance.
Award Categories
- Board Diversity and Inclusivity
- Embracing Digital
- Embracing Opportunity and Harnessing Risk
- Improving Impact – charities with 3 paid staff or fewer (including charities with no paid staff)
- Improving Impact – charities with 4–25 paid staff
- Improving impact – charities with 26 paid staff or more
- Managing Turnaround
Award Amount
The winning charity in each category will receive £5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Entries are welcome from any registered charity, big or small, that meets the following criteria.
Charities must:
- be registered in the UK by the Charity Commission (or the equivalent in each devolved nation)
- have been established before 31 December 2014
- only submit one entry across all seven awards
Entries must:
- Cover activities undertaken in the last five years (2012–2017).
- Focus on the work of the main board, not sub-committees.
- Be made by a trustee, employee or volunteer of the charity.
