The Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative (ANPI) is the Jack Ma Foundation’s flagship philanthropic entrepreneur program in Africa. It aims to identify, spotlight and support African entrepreneur heroes creating impact in their communities and building a more inclusive economy for the future.
They are excited to launch year-2 of their competition to identify, spotlight & support Africa’s Business Heroes. They are on the search for African entrepreneurs, of all ages and all sectors, who are leveraging business to create positive impact and solve pressing challenges in Africa!

- 1st Prize Winner: $300,000

Benefits
- Exposure: Through the “Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH)” show, ANPI provides their Heroes the chance to tell Africa and the world their story. The show is distributed via major television networks, which provides their finalists with significant publicity and exposure.
- Training: ANPI offers their Heroes training at Alibaba’s headquarters via the prestigious eFounders fellowship training program. In addition, ANPI is working with partners to develop bespoke training and accelerator services for Top 10.
- Mentorship: ANPI offers their Heroes the opportunity to be mentored by renowned business leaders including Finale and Semi-Finale judges.
- Networking: ANPI provides their heroes the opportunity to network at the ANPI summit, ANPI Business Heroes’ gatherings and deep-dives (e.g. China Trip), and through Africa’s Business Heroes exclusive platform (to be released in 2021).

Eligibility Criteria
- ANPI is looking for African entrepreneur heroes creating impact in their communities and building a more inclusive economy for the future. Africans from all 54 African countries are eligible to apply irrespective of age, industry sector or gender. However, applicants have to meet a strict set of criteria:
- Applicant should be the Founder or Co-Founder of the company.
- Applicant is of African origin. You have/had African citizenship and/or a parent or grandparent has African citizenship.
- Company is Africa-Based. The business is registered and headquartered in an African country, and primarily operates in Africa.
- Company is post-Idea stage. Business is 3 years old or more and has at least 3 years of revenue history.
- Only individuals of African origin may apply. In other words, you must either have/have had African citizenship OR a parent/grandparent has African citizenship.
