Call for Applications: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Bursary (Zimbabwe)

CFAs: Training and Technical Assistance Initiative (US)

Deadline: 30-Oct-2025

The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) has partnered with the Mastercard Foundation to implement the Second Chance Pathways for Increased Access to Tertiary Education for Marginalised Young Women and Men/FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Programme Phase II.

The programme will prioritise participants facing the highest social and economic barriers, with 5–15% of them being people with disability and refugees.

Through FAWE Zimbabwe, there are 200 bursaries available (80% female and 20% male) for programme participants interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related programmes at selected Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Zimbabwe.

To be eligible for the FAWEZI TVET bursaries, applicants must be between 15 and 25 years old at the time of application and should meet the entry requirements of a TVET institution of their choice from those listed. Recent secondary school graduates are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates should have completed their Ordinary or Advanced Level examinations in any of Zimbabwe’s ten provinces.

Applicants currently benefiting from another bursary or scholarship are not eligible. The bursary programme encourages applications from persons with disabilities, refugees, individuals infected or affected by HIV/AIDS, and orphans, whether partial or total. Eligible applicants must be applying for 2- to 3-year STEM-related courses offered at Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, Kwekwe Polytechnics, or Belvedere Technical Teachers College.

FAWEZI emphasizes that application forms are free and warns applicants against any form of payment, facilitation charges, or use of intermediaries during the process. Submissions containing false information, misrepresentation, or incomplete details, as well as attempts to influence the selection process, will lead to immediate disqualification or termination. All applications will undergo verification, including home visits for shortlisted candidates, and only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

FAWEZI maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against child abuse, sexual exploitation, and harassment by any individual involved in the programme, including employees, volunteers, service providers, and partners.

The deadline for submission of applications is 30 October 2025.
