Deadline: 17-Dec-2025

The Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund (CMIF) Indigenous Grants Program is an initiative by the Government of Canada aimed at supporting Indigenous groups in engaging with and benefiting from clean energy and transportation infrastructure projects related to critical minerals development.

This program is part of a broader effort to enable the sustainable development and expansion of critical minerals production in Canada.

The 2025 call for proposals under this program offers up to $3 million in grant funding for eligible initiatives. Organizations located in northern or remote areas may receive up to $200,000, while those in non-northern or non-remote areas are eligible for up to $150,000. These funds are intended to support activities such as community engagement, capacity building, and knowledge sharing related to infrastructure projects that facilitate critical minerals development.

Eligible recipients include Indigenous organizations, such as communities, governments, tribal councils, and Indigenous for-profit or not-for-profit entities. Non-Indigenous organizations may also apply if they are working in partnership with Indigenous groups.

The program encourages collaborative efforts that foster meaningful participation and ensure that Indigenous communities have the opportunity to engage in decision-making processes related to critical minerals projects.
