The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organizations to promote dialogue and exchanges between youth groups and youth initiatives in the Great Lakes region.

The priorities of this call for proposals are:

The proposals shall support youth actions/initiatives that focus on mediation, political dialogue and peacebuilding in a broad sense, and shall therefore cover fields that are considered as major potential factors of conflict – such as environment and natural resources; climate change; economy/private sector/employment; political representation; governance; media/social media; fight against corruption; transitional justice and fight against impunity; land and inheritance; culture and education; etc. – as long as the incidence of the projects on the overall objective of the Call is demonstrated.

Size of Grants

Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:

Duration

The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.

Location

Actions must take place in three or more of the following countries: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda.
