The United Nations Development Program Global Environment Facility Small Grants Program (UNDP GEF SGP) was launched by the GEF through the United Nations Development Program to assist developing countries in fulfilling their commitment of protection of the global environment through local actions.
The maximum grant amount per project is US$50,000, but averages around US$25,000.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be
- a non-government organization
- a community-based organization
- a grassroots organization
- Applicant organization must be working in one of the mentioned SGP country.
- All project proposals submitted to SGP need to demonstrate:
- How the proposed project proposal meets the GEF SGP criteria by articulating how project objectives and activities would have an impact in the SGP areas of work.
- How they respond or are aligned to the targets and objectives of the SGP Country Program Strategy (CPS) of their country.
How to Apply?
Interested NGOs/CBOs must download generic forms including Concept Paper and Guidance Notes plus Program Strategy from the UNDP website and submit their Concept Paper with relevant attachments via email or post.
Note: All concept papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word versions.
