The Human Trafficking Foundation is seeking nominations for its annual Awards Ceremony to mark Anti-Slavery Day during which, supported by the Marsh Christian Trust, they recognize the work of groups or individuals who fight Modern Slavery in the UK and Internationally.
The award will be presented at the Human Trafficking Foundation’s Anti-Slavery Day Awards event, Speaker’s House, 15th October 2018
Award Categories
This year there are three award categories:
- Reducing vulnerabilities: This category recognizes people working to strengthen resilience to exploitation and reduce the prevalence of trafficking. They will be working to achieve systemic, long-lasting change to enhance protection from trafficking. Examples of work within this category could include education or training work, businesses tackling exploitation in their supply chains or promoting workers’ rights, and programmes which prevent individuals needing to take risks.
- Enabling and Supporting Survivors’ rights and entitlements: This category recognizes people working to improve outcomes for survivors’ rights and entitlements on a systemic long-term basis. Examples of this work could include advocacy work to support individuals to access their rights, such as test cases with implications for the sector or work for rights based policy change.
- Rebuilding lives: This category recognizes people working to improve support for survivors. It considers work which takes a more holistic approach to addressing individual needs and helps survivors rebuild their lives. Examples of this work could include long term advocacy or support work programmes.
Eligible Applicants
Any individual, organization or group based in the UK who has made a significant contribution to preventing or addressing Modern Slavery. The Foundation is not accepting self-nominations.
