The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is seeking applicants for its sixth annual Women on the Move Awards 2017 that is celebrating the contribution of refugee and migrant women to the UK.
The Women on the Move Awards celebrate refugee and migrant women who have done exceptional work towards women’s empowerment and integration. These women have managed not only to build a new life for themselves and their families, but also to support and inspire communities across the UK.
The awards take place at the Women of the World festival at London’s Southbank – the largest women’s festival network in the world, involving over a million people across five continents.
Open Award Categories
- Woman of the Year: Recognising the outstanding contribution of refugee and migrant women.
- Young Woman of the Year: Celebrating the achievements of young women with a migrant or refugee background who provide essential support and inspiring leadership.
