UN Women is inviting non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and academic institutions working in the areas of women’s empowerment, gender equality, violence against women, community engagement, conflict resolution, social inclusion, elimination of violence against women, refugee response and resilience to submit proposals to implement activities and deliver results under respective outputs mentioned below.
This call for proposals is launched within the context of the “Women, Peace and Security Global Facility: From Resolutions to Accountability and Leadership” programme implemented by UN Women.
Overall goal: To understand the dynamics and root causes related to gender-based violence in the Syrian refugee context, recognized through the participation and leadership of affected communities.
Objective: Promote a change in the perceptions, policies and practices of development and emergency response agencies and communities concerning SGBV and negative coping mechanisms through the elaboration of field participatory analysis in host communities of Syrian refugees in Turkey and the dissemination of collected information in global and regional advocacy scenarios.
The proposal should target the below Outcome / Outputs
Outcome 1: Refugee response actors are more equipped and responsive to combat violence.
- Output 1.1: Refugee response actors and communities have increased access to evidence-based policy recommendations to strengthen their responses.
- Output 1.2 Refugee response actors and communities are strengthened to act on key concepts and patterns of SGBV.
- Output 1.3: Women and girls from refugee and host communities are empowered and supported to provide inputs for evidence-based policy recommendations aiming towards increasing access to rights and eliminating violence, through active participation.
Timeframe
The project will commence upon the signature of a partnership agreement with the selected organization/s and will end twelve months after the signature of the agreement.
Eligibility Criteria
This call for proposals is open to non-governmental organisations legally established and operating in Turkey.
