Deadline: 23-Oct-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has announced a new initiative in Switzerland, focusing on strengthening partnerships for children in humanitarian settings.
The program will be implemented in Kanton Thurgau and Canton de Vaud, aiming to build a more coordinated, sustainable, and child-centered approach to humanitarian action.
With a funding allocation of $70,000, the initiative seeks to foster collaboration across sectors by enhancing emergency preparedness, disaster risk reduction, and effective humanitarian response management. It emphasizes the importance of unified efforts among local and international partners to ensure that humanitarian actions address both immediate and long-term needs of children affected by crises.
Expected results from this initiative include the development of a stronger, integrated network of partners committed to sustainable, child-focused humanitarian response. It will also drive progress on implementing the seven prioritized recommendations emerging from the 2024 Consultations, with a special focus on localization, innovation, and long-term sustainability in humanitarian programming.
Additionally, UNICEF aims to enhance accountability mechanisms, ensuring more transparent and effective monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian interventions. By fostering shared responsibility and innovative practices, this initiative will strengthen the capacity of partners in Switzerland to respond to global humanitarian challenges while keeping children at the center of action.
