Grants for Coordination of Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Child Welfare Services – US

Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Republic of Congo

Deadline: 29-Jul-2025

The Administration for Children and Families is offering grants to support coordination between Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs and child welfare services. These grants aim to help tribal families at risk of child abuse or neglect by improving service delivery and support.

The goal is to explore how tribal governments or consortia can best support at-risk families through coordinated efforts. Grant funds can be used to enhance case management for families eligible for Tribal TANF, provide supportive services to tribal children in out-of-home placements and their caregivers or adoptive families, and offer prevention services to families at risk.

The total estimated funding available for this program is $1,720,000. Each grant will be awarded at a fixed amount of $215,000. Projects will run over five years, divided into five one-year budget periods.

Eligible applicants include Indian tribes and Alaska Native regional nonprofits that are administering a Tribal TANF program at the time of the funding announcement. Consortia of two or more tribes are also eligible, provided they manage a Tribal TANF program on behalf of those tribes. Individuals and foreign entities are not eligible for this funding.
