The Heartefact grant program aims to support socially relevant and culturally enriching artistic and cultural projects that address critical social issues, foster community development, and promote diversity in artistic practices and expressions.

The focus areas include supporting the development and implementation of socially relevant and culturally enriching contemporary artistic projects that promote diversity in artistic practices and expressions, address critical social issues, and foster community development.

The program also fosters direct engagement with audiences in smaller communities, supports the emergence of new voices, and empowers citizens to use the independent cultural scene as a platform for expression and civic participation. Environmental sustainability, gender, social inclusion, diversity, and decentralization are integrated into all activities and management, with emphasis on supporting youth, women, children, and other marginalized groups, while promoting gender equality as a driver of creativity and innovation. The maximum funding available for project implementation is up to 857,145 MKD for a project duration of up to 12 months.

The call emphasizes initiatives that promote diversity in artistic practices and expressions, with particular focus on socially engaged cultural productions in local communities and regions outside of Skopje. It encourages platforms for diverse perspectives, meaningful social critique, dialogue, societal change, and amplifying the voice of marginalized groups.

Eligible applicants include cultural and artistic organizations, artistic collectives and initiatives, civil society organizations that carry out cultural and artistic activities, and other legal entities active in arts and culture, such as independent foundations, endowments, limited liability companies, and entrepreneurs. The program is designed to ensure small initiatives receive support to engage local audiences and strengthen cultural participation and dialogue.
