Project Title lot 3: Strengthening the Resilience and Economic reintegration of conflict affected Children and Women (Nigeria)

NBS Foundation Grant Program (Slovakia)

Deadline: 22-Jul-2025

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has launched Project Title Lot 3: Strengthening the Resilience and Economic Reintegration of conflict-affected children and women, including those exiting armed groups in BAY states.

This project aims to increase equitable access to economic reintegration assistance for children and women, especially adolescent girls, exiting armed groups and affected populations in host communities. It also seeks to strengthen the institutional and technical capacities of community-based child protection structures, supported by auxiliary social work, to aid the social and economic reintegration and resilience of vulnerable children and their families in conflict-affected areas.

The focus areas include child protection and gender-based violence. The project duration is one year and targets the Borno region in Nigeria.

Expected results include supporting the economic reintegration of conflict-affected children enrolled in vocational training across BAY states. Children and youth formerly associated with armed groups will be equipped with vocational skills and guided toward sustainable economic opportunities. Specifically, 1,600 boys and girls exiting armed groups and other conflict-affected children enrolled in vocational centers will receive this support.

The project also aims to strengthen sustainable livelihoods for conflict-affected children, women, and survivors of gender-based violence. Adolescent girls and women exiting armed groups, as well as other conflict-affected females in camps and communities, will gain access to community-based economic livelihood opportunities.

Another key result is the prevention of and response to violence against children, girls, and women in vocational institutions, schools, and communities. Safe and dignified economic reintegration services will be provided to boys and girls exiting armed groups, along with other vulnerable children and women.

Selection criteria for applicants include clarity of activities and expected results, local experience and presence, cost-effectiveness, experience working with the UN, and relevant sector expertise.
