RFAs: Queensland Community Foundation – Regional Funds Grant (Australia)

Open Call: Community Grants Program (Australia)

Deadline: 12-Dec-2025

The Queensland Gives (QG) Regional Sub Funds were created to establish a lasting source of charitable funding dedicated to supporting specific regions across Queensland.

A portion of the net income earned each year is distributed as grants, ensuring continuous support for community initiatives and long-term local benefit. Each Regional Fund operates independently, free from government influence, and is guided by a locally appointed committee. These committees assess community priorities and make decisions on how best to allocate funds to achieve positive outcomes.

Grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 are available to eligible organisations. Supported projects may fall under areas such as community wellbeing, health, arts and culture, animal welfare, children and youth, education, environment, medical research, Indigenous initiatives, and religion. Projects should demonstrate clear objectives, sustainable outcomes, and effective use of resources. Preference is given to proposals that strengthen communities, reduce social disadvantage, and deliver long-term or systemic change. QG aims to fund complete projects rather than small contributions to larger initiatives, although co-funded projects may be considered where additional financial support is secured.

The overarching mission of the Regional Funds is to enhance the quality of life for people within their regions by supporting non-profit and community organisations that address disadvantage, promote wellbeing, and respond to emerging local needs. The funds also provide services to donors, helping them achieve their philanthropic goals and make a meaningful difference in their communities.

To apply, organisations must hold Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1 (DGR1) status from the Australian Taxation Office, have an annual revenue below $5 million, and be based in Queensland. All funds granted must directly benefit communities within the region to which the application applies. Through these regional sub-funds, Queensland Gives continues to empower communities, foster collaboration, and build a sustainable foundation for positive social impact across the state.
